The Heaven

I'm in school now.

Oh no, correction...

I'm in the heaven. The Mac heaven.

Yup, I'm here again to work on the annual school magazine, The Victorian.

Weng and Darryl's with me. So here are some pictures touched up in iphoto.

Oh that's the ever slendous, cute Martin posing.

Two monitors joined to one CPU, yes, Mac is capable of doing just that. Result: extra long screen for maximum work space.

Darryl soaked in a tint of green. Working so diligently on photoshop. He told me he only slept for one hour from 6 am to 7 am. Poor boy...

The lab. The Macs. Definitely tempting.

The comfortable sofa and beanbags at the back of the lab. Perfect for resting.

So that's it now, Darryl and Weng are pestering me to resume my work.

Gotta stop here.

I’m just like an apple rotting away

Haiz, I just finished helping Hin Kai and his 13 friends painstakingly write the notes of a Chinese song (Lin Jun Jie’s Yi Qian Nian Yi Hou). I think they are rather desperate, because in Hin kai’s short email to me, he said “thank you soooooooooo much”, and that “I’m indebted to you”.

Ok, sounds kinda lame, like he’s trying to suck up to me.

But honestly, I think they really require the scores for some Chinese Orchestra project or something. And since it is within my capabilities and talents, I decided that there is no harm helping them. I mean, when others are in need, we should extend a helping hand, right?

Ha, I bet you’d be wondering why the title of my 33rd blog post is entitled “I’m just like an apple rotting away”.

I’ll tell you why.

I have been slacking. I have not read any book, or started preparing for next year’s syllabus. Fortunately, my mom passed me this book on The Five Love Languages yesterday. Well, after randomly flipping through the pages, I perceive it is a rather straightforward easy reading book.

Oh ya, btw, my PowerPoint animation is coming along really fine! It is very cool! I can’t wait to show it to you guys! (For those who want a copy when I’ve completed, do email me and I’ll gladly send you my work. )

Well, here’s a sneak peak at something which I’ve drawn USING POWERPOINT ONLY.

Nice, ain’t it?

Today and yesterday

The holidays are the best time to sleep. You tuck in to bed real early, and you’re the last person in the family to awake next morning, and most of the time, you’re awaken because their voices interrupt your wonderful sleep.

Well, at least, that’s my case. Today, I awoke at 9: 07. After a quick wash up, I started eating. I’m a glutton. I took two buns (a sausage and a cheese), a pau and two servings of fried rice with tomato ketchup. Sinful. At this rate, I’ll look as if I’m 3 months pregnant when school re-opens. Yucks, I can’t imagine that.

Now for a shift in topic.

Yesterday, I went to play badminton with 4 of my BB friends (Harry, Yuan Hong, Xuan Yi and Jim) at Pasir Ris East Community Centre. I have to admit that I’ve never been there before, so it was no surprise that I overshot the CC by two bus stops. What’s worse was that I had my Transport Guide with me! A map, complete with bus stops! And I could still get lost?!

Honestly, no big deal. I kinda anticipated that I’d screw up finding the building, because being the blur sotong I am at topo, this always happens.

The CC was big, it was tall and humongous. We played from 2 to 4, booked two courts, and I presume that I’m one of the lousiest amongst them.

After the game, Harry, Xuan Yi and Yuan Hong went to Century Square to watch Harry Potter. Haha, HARRY watching HARRY potter. Lol.

Anyways, I didn’t join them. I decided that it was best to head home to continue my animation.

Kayaking 2 star course

As I am typing this, I feel out of place. I know for a fact that I’m on land in the comfort of my house, but my head feels as if it’s still out at sea. I feel like I’m still riding the waves. My poor head’s bobbing up and down. It’s something like giddiness. Well, I guess I cannot forget the sea, after being with it the whole day long, through sunshine and rain.

From Monday to Wednesday, I had three consecutive days of kayaking lessons at Paddle Culture (at Big Splash, East Coast). The course was organized for sec 2s and 3s to attain the BB kayaking badge required for the founders award (most prestigious).

Today, we paddled out on a short expedition to MacDonald’s, where we rested for a short break before heading back, when it rained.

Now I’m proud to announce, finally, after much contact with salt water, paddles, life vests, spray skirts and kayaks (both plastic and fiber glass), that I’ve cleared my kayaking 2 star personal skill course!

Let me share with you what I’ve learned:
1) Tides and tidals
2) Bracing
3) Low brace
4) High brace
5) Low brace on a turn
6) Expedition planning
7) Kayak to swimmer rescue
8) Stern rudder
9) Bow rudder
10) TX rescue (with one rescuer)
11) Spray skirt (hooray! I’ve finally worn a skirt!)
12) Eskimo drill (if that’s what it’s called)
13) Deep sea entry

Well, that’s quite a list…but for the asking price of $67.50 which I paid (which my BB company will try to subsidize a bit), it’s only fair that I’ve learnt that much.

Other than skills, I took home other things.
1) Fun. It’s truly exhilarating to paddle at sea with the choppy waves clashing onto your plastic cyclone kayaks as you frantically try to maneuver it to stay in the right direction.
2) Physical training. Paddling requires strength and stamina.
3) Pain. Ok, maybe that’s exaggerated. I should say…slight pain. Yup, when I alighted from the kayak at shore, the strong wave pushed the kayak onto shore abruptly and bumped onto my leg, causing a 5 cm surface abrasion. I couldn’t get away in time as I was pulling it up to shore. Fortunately, the pain was in the ‘little to bearable’ range.
4) Free entry to Big Splash. Yes, free. My senior (Joel Lau) decided to find out if we could play at big splash after the course, and surprisingly, we could! It was empty except for a few wild Malays. It was an adrenaline pumping ride down the steep slide. It was fast, rapid, and somewhat scary. I went down trice…and decided that it was enough, after witnessing my other seniors receiving slight bruises after ‘flying’ off the slide a little and bumping down due to the quick speed. Ouch!
5) Lastly, a free ride in a 5 seater Peugeot 206 two door hatchback, and a free chocolate ice cream from a shop in Katong Mall called Awfully Chocolate, all courtesy of Officer Calvin. I hitched a ride to the 55 bus stop after Katong Convent. I learned that the 206 is a manual car, with rather cramped fabric rear seats, and his was the last car in production to be purchased! Lucky guy. Calvin, if you happen to be reading this post, I’d like to thank you for treating me to the wonderfully thick brown chocolate ice cream!

That’s all folks!

Sunday, the holy Sabbath

Yupp, Sunday means church (I attend Bedok Methodist Church). Today, I played the guitar for the Children’s Ministry worship. The young children were very curious about the wooden instrument with a big, hollow hole in the centre and a long ‘neck’ which ends with 6 silver ‘knobs’, connecting 6 strings stretched tightly across the instrument. As a matter of fact, their curiosity led some of the daring ones to tamper with the ‘knobs’. Yes, they helped me ‘tune’ the guitar alright. Haha…

After playing, I joined my youth ministry (Frontliners it’s called) with the usual service.

A short time of teaching followed after worship. Our ministry leader, Aunty Judy Foo, came up to teach us about worship.

So, I shall summarize what I’ve learnt:
1) Worship is only made possible because there is God (or Jesus). Without Him, worship is meaningless.
2) Worship, for Christians, is not an optional activity. We were made to praise and glorify His name.
3) We can only experience true worship when we accept Him as our Lord, King and Saviour.
4) We must come to worship with the right attitude. We must recognize that we require His love and mercy, and that we are all sinners.

When church ended, we made our way to our regular lunch hang-out, the nearby Parkway Parade. But instead of eating at the food court usually, my younger sister suggested to dine at Sakae Sushi. My dad approved, but my mom reluctantly nodded her head unwillingly. Firstly, she doesn’t like Japanese food. In fact, she didn’t even order anything. Secondly, I think she finds it extravagant. Well, I ordered a tempura bento set ($11.90) and my father ordered another one for himself too.

We then visited our grandmother with a Mocha cake as it was her birthday.

In the afternoon, I got a much-needed hair cut.

And now I’m blogging.

I think after this I’ll continue on my PowerPoint animation test. I’m experimenting with simultaneous animation effects…It’s really cool.

New CD

Today Mdm Tazneen let me off relatively early from the tedious job of designing the annual school magazine, The Victorian. Finally, I get to see daylight upon stepping out of the staff workroom (I usually end at around 6 to 7). I boarded service 55 at 4: 11 pm.

This gave me the opportunity to drop by at Hougang Mall Popular CD-Rama to buy a new CD, entitled iworship No Boundaries. I used my $10 gift voucher (which expires next month, so I have to quickly use it) to pay a portion of the $22.90 price tag. Simple calculation will tell you that I forked out $12.90. By the time I pressed the lift button at my flat void deck, it was 5: 36 pm.

I have yet to listen to the 2 disc compilation…so I can’t certainly say that my money was well spent. Well, after all, most CDs that I purchase are a gamble, a risk, as I’m unsure if it’s good.

Don’t you agree?

Back to the blogger template

Ok...

So my skin is black now. Reason for changing skin?

To get rid of those stupid symbols that appear with the skin Weng helped me create...sorry Weng Keong it's not that I don't like your work or what...but those stupid symbols replacing an ' is really irritating.

I'm so sorry but I have to throw away all your hard work...

JYC (Junior Youth Camp) 2005: One Step More

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. ”
- Galatians 6:10

Yup, this is the camp’s theme verse. It challenges us to extend a helping hand to the needy, to courageously proclaim and share God’s word for we should not contain our blessing.

Hi I’m back from my church camp from 11th to 14th Nov! The camp was entitled ‘One Step More’. One bold step forward in serving Him and expanding His kingdom, glorifying His wondrous name and worshipping Him in a very personal and intimate way, for he is kings of kings, the maker of heaven and earth. To sum everything up in one word: refreshing.

It was a great and memorable experience of a lifetime, both spiritually and emotionally. I made acquaintances, built on existing friendships and fellowshipped with my friends. But above all, I had increased in my faith; I’ve learnt the importance of surrendering to Him whole-heartedly and let the Holy Spirit work in me and use me to be a testimony to the millions of unsaved children which He so longingly and earnestly hope to see them turn to Him and believe that He is the way, the truth and the life. Nothing compares to being close with Him. It gives me a spiritual ‘high’, the over-flowing desire to humble myself before His majesty and submit to Him, saying: “Lord, here I am, stripped naked. I’m a sinful man. Use me Lord, send me, for here I am, ready to serve. ”

Indeed, the things of this world will fade and disappear and become of no importance when He comes back. The things of this world do not last, they draw our attention away from being with Him, and they prevent us from focusing on Him. They are evil. The world is a sinful world; we must repent and seek help from Him. Materialistic wealth isn’t everything in this corrupt world; many have failed to recognize that their life purposes are wrong in His sight. We all work to be rich, money is all we care about, but He is the one that all of us should be seeking after, His love and His righteousness, which we must emulate.

We must be blessed to be a blessing. You can’t spread the gospel or donate food to the hungry when you are broke. You can’t go out laying hands on the sick when you are lying in bed. You can’t minister joy to others when you are being held captive by depression. Make up your mind to be a blessing, and He will pour out His unending blessings on you by the truckload. We should all adopt this attitude of ‘living to give’.

My life has been transformed through this camp. This has served as a timely reminder to tell me I must obey Him, follow Him, seek Him, and live a God-centered life.

The worship experience was amazing, overwhelming. I cannot describe it using words. Words cannot fully embrace all of my emotions, feelings and that spiritual ‘high’. You have to experience it to comprehend. All I can say was that everyone was praising, jumping and raising hands to the Lord. It was wonderful, great, and certainly refreshing. However, the drums were so loud that it drowned the voices of the worship leaders, but nevertheless, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

We arrived at Scripture Union’s campsite at Sentosa at 1 on Thursday. The building was old, constructed in the late 1970s, it was cramp, 2 levels only, and it was rundown but still acceptable for a camp with roughly 90 plus youths attending. The bunks were double-decker beds, they were squeaky and fragile, the mattress was thin, but the one thing I couldn’t stand was the poor ventilation. In my dorm of 10 people, there were no windows, except for two large green wooden doors at both ends of the breadth of the rectangular shaped room, with a tiny opening at the top of the door supposedly for air circulation, but it’s of little use. There were two dusty fans mounted to the side near each door on the stained white wall. In the centre, where I unfortunately slept, there was literally no form of wind. No fan. On the first night, I was continually scratching myself as if my body was infested with flees at night. It was so stuffy that I couldn’t sleep comfortably. It was like a burning furnace, a virtual oven, and we were just like the cookies baking inside. Thankfully, I slept when I was too tired to stay awake. The much appreciated move to the hall to sleep on the second night with the air conditioner on ensured that I had a better sleep.

The campsite was notorious for being home to a splendid array of ants too. In a bathing cubicle, the ants were so prevalent that nobody dared bath in there for fear of their clothes swamped in ants crawling all over. In some cubicles, the shower jet pressure was so high that the clothes would get wet even if hung far away from it at the door. Well, being absolutely clueless and ignorant, I unluckily used one of those ‘strong’ showers on the first day and ended up with my pants damp. Not to mention, there was also a small hole in the roof leaking water when it rained.

The hall, which was just sufficient to accommodate all of us, had six medium-sized air-cons to keep us cool. The canteen was on the first floor, where we had our home-cooked meals. The food wasn’t exactly lousy, neither can I hail it the best ever; in my standards, it’s just okay. Each group took turns to serve each meal. Oh ya forgotten to tell you, I’m in group Gentleness, and my group won third in the games! We were awarded a whole lot of tit-bits, ice cream and sweets, which we couldn’t finish, so we gave some to other envious groups. There were only three boys in my group including me, but the girls were friendly people.

Back to the food. Lunch and dinner usually consisted of four dishes with rice, and the drink was water. Well, to my utmost relief, piping hot Milo was served during breakfast. On the first day, we had noodles which tasted rubbery and dry with porridge, hot bean curd and chee cheong fun was on the menu for the second day, and bread with the previous night’s curry puff for supper was what we received on the last day’s breakfast. Not exactly mouth-watering or tempting.

Every morning after washing up at 8, we had 5 BX, which means simply stretching exercises. It was held in the hall, and we did all sorts of warm-up, from push-ups to star jumps to neck rotation. Breakfast followed, and then it was quiet time.

Wow…this sure is a long post, but do take time to read on because what I need to say is important.

For the camp, Pastor Alvin from The Third Place was invited to speak to us about maturing during our teenage years. His sermon, evenly distributed over the camp duration, had three parts, namely grow-up, wise-up and shape-up. In grow-up he talked about putting away childish things, using the exemplary bible character Joshua, who was Moses’ assistant. There are three principles to help us grow-up:

1) Step up to serve. Do not be afraid for He will always be protecting and watching over you.
2) Seek God’s way. Tell Him: “I’m at your command. What do you want your servant to do? ”
3) Submit and obey. Trust in Him and make Him the king of your life.

In wise-up, we must start to realize God’s purpose for our life. We studied Esther, and learnt that He can work through:

1) The most disobedient people.
2) The most impossible odds.
3) The most trivial circumstances.

In shape-up, we must set a goal, be disciplined and persevere to grow deeper in our relationship with Him. Studying Paul, we discovered that this can be accomplished through:

1) Bible reading. It could be a chapter or a passage a day.
2) Quiet Time. It must be a fixed time daily where we go to the Lord and read His word.
3) Accountability/fellowship. This means having someone accountable to you.
4) Service/ministry. Anything is service if done willingly unto the Lord.

On Sunday the 13th, we had COP at night after a day of fun but wet games at the beach. COP is Concert of Prayer, where we all get together for a time of worship and prayer as one. We prayed specifically for three issues:

1) Abuse. This includes physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal abuse, emotional abuse and drug abuse.
2) Cancer patients at NUH. This group of unfortunate, young children requires the love of God knowing that someone out there still cares.
3) Poverty. Some countries include Myanmar, Vietnam, India and Korea. In fact, in Singapore, there is still a minority that worries about their next meal without having a shelter over their heads.

It was a very intimate time with God, ministering and praying fervently.

The icebreakers on the first day were disgusting. We all sat in a circle in the hall, and we had to pass fruits (red and green apples and pears) around USING OUR MOUTH! To exacerbate our fears, the camp committee ensured that we sat boy and girl alternate. That was the freakiest mouth-to-mouth game ever! Well, we still played without a choice. Occasionally, there were a few high-pitch screams of fright from the girls and I witnessed some cheating too, which was usually complimented by the fruit rolling over the hall like a ball. There was one pear which I bit that had its skin dangling around and juice was dripping from visible teeth marks which sung deep into the flesh. My plastic retainer prevented me from firmly gripping the fruits!

Night games on the second day took the form of catching in Palawan beach. We all got really dirty, sweaty and smelly as flour was poured on our hair, rice was smeared on our shirt, tissue paper balls were soaked in detergent and thrown at us, and toothpaste was coated on our legs. Despite these, we had a ball of fun. Great fun. However, their special ‘concoction’ made the material of my dark blue Nike shirt go all hard and rough.

The third day’s games from morning till evening saw us trekking around the island with the Sentosa map in our hands taking group pictures. At the Merlion Fountain, we stepped inside the circular fountain into the water to take a group photo! At Palawan beach, again, we buried a group member (Yvette, a small-sized sec 1), build a sandcastle, danced YMCA with a group of crazy men and much much more…

It was an exhilarating and fun-filled experience which we all enjoyed. I do not regret a single bit for attending JYC, and I’m very sure that I would sign up again next year. For any of you who may be inspired to join me next year too after my super long testimony, we welcome you with open hands.

Thank you Lord! I love you!

The post after 'The post after 'now''

The title is LAME. Ok...self confession: I am being lame.

But being lame is fun. I mean, why be serious all the while? Life should be fun. Why live your life all so seriously when you don't enjoy it?....Well, unless you enjoy being serious all the while.

STOP.

I'm talking nonsense. I'm writing crap.

The purpose of this post:

Wait...before that, I must tell you that I'm blogging this from school using the Power Mac G5 again. This time round Darryl's sitting right behind me.

I shouldn't be slacking, but this isn't slacking. This is BLOGGING. It improves my english and writing skills. Better not let Mu Yao find out about my 'illegal' activity, or else he'll scream at me till my ear drums burst. Thankfully he's sitting in front of me so he can't see the 20-inch Cinema Display Screen and what's on it. Whatever...

Now back to the purpose after a short diversion.

The purpose is to tell you a good news and a bad news.

The unpleasant first.

I'm leaving for my church youth camp (JYC it's called) on Friday. This spells something bad:

1) I'm not going to have contact with any computer till the next Monday.
2) I can't come back to school to help out in the School Magazine.
3) I can't blog for 4 days.
4) I can't see my house for 4 days.
5) I can't use a Mac for 4 days.

And so on......

The camp at Sentosa better be good. Guess what, I've not packed my bag.

Well, the good news?

I'll MAKE NEW FRIENDS AND LEARN MORE ABOUT GOD!!!!

Ok larh I know it sounds so religious and stuff, but I must say it.

I LOVE YOU JESUS!

The post after 'Now'

I can’t believe it. Today, I left school at 7.05. Reached home at 8.15.

Bathed, then ate dinner. Still rather full after eating the pineapple rice Mdm Tazneen has so kindly brought back for us, her ‘children’, after having lunch with the English department teachers in some Thai restaurant.

Then I read the papers.

Used the computer after that. It cocked up again. The screen suddenly went blank after startup. Restarted it, then hanged again just after loading the desktop. Haiz…Windows…full of system problems to haunt you with. Plus my computer is slow and outdated. 256MB ram, 2.66 GHz Pentium 4 processor, Service Pack 1, 40GB HDD, Nvidia GeForce 4 MX440. I’ve backed up all my documents…prepared that it’s gonna crash any moment. After the THIRD reboot, it was fine, thankfully.

Tomorrow I need to go back to school again. Well, at least I get to use Macs, that fact consoles me and is the reason why I’m willing to go. Macs are impressive machines, aren’t they?

And beauties not to forget. White beauties.

Ian

Now

Guess where am I blogging from?
School.

To be precise,
The AEP Media Lab.

To be even more precise,
The AEP Media Lab with 10 Power Mac G5s.

To go right down to the details,
At the Lab with Weng Keong.

To be so meticulous,
Listening to music blasting from the speakers connected to his 20GB ipod while working on the events pages for the annual school magazine, The Victorian.

To tell you the truth,
I shouldn't be blogging now. But then again, it's only me and Weng Keong here. Who cares?

To phrase it in a nicer way,
I'm now taking a SHORT break from my work.

When am I going to leave school?
Dunno. When everything that is supposed to be done is done? Maybe. But I predict it'll be around 5 when it's all done.

What do I have on top of my bag now?
Hilary Duff's first album, burned by Weng Keong a while ago for me. So sweet.

Once again,
Thank you Weng Keong. Hilary rocks!!!

How am I feeling now?
Guilty.

Why?
Cos I shouldn't be slacking.

So what do I have to say?
That's all folks gotta get back to business.

What do you think of this post?
Oh boy Ian you are freaking lame today.

How do I reply?
Yes I am dude.

How do I end this post?

By saying...

CAN MY BLOG HAVE A HIGHER VIEWERSHIP?????!!!!!!

I need traffic!

Ou De Yang concert at Padang on 3rd Nov

Ok I know, the Ou De Yang Da Xing Yan Chang Hui was on the 3rd (last Thursday) but today's the 7th. Sorry but I just didn't have time these few days as I have been working on a Powerpoint slideshow for the Ocean concert. 35.5MB...yup, that's the size of the whole PPT. Basically, it's a slideshow of the pictures I took.

Many say that Ou De Yang shouldn't reveal his face, because:

1) His voice doesn't match his looks. Ya, no doubt I agree with that even though I'm a great, enthusiastic Ocean fan. But who gives a damn?! We buy albums for music, not so much because the artist has good looks, rite? Who would buy an album with sucky songs even though the singer looks gorgeous? Personally, I was pleasantly surprised when I first saw him crashing through the gigantic paper box in the centre of the stage.

2) His looks are mediocre. Yes, I agree with this statement again. But neither does he look horrid like some ugly duckling. Frankly speaking, he looks decent, simple and he's the type of person that I prefer. Shoulder's length hair, white cap, beige long pants, shirt...he looks perfectly fine to me. Unlike some vain pop star who gels his hair into hard spikes and all...

3) He looks older than the cartoon. Yes, we all agree again as a fact. The cartoon was some nose-less, tall, rather thin person that has freaking broad shoulders. So, again, it was a pleasant surprise when he first appeared to the 8000 strong crowd at the Padang in the 1.5 hour long concert.

4) It's because his mysterious, that's why his album sells well...in fact, it's very, very, good. I'm not amazed, honestly, because such a refined, magnificent, perfect album with his heart-warming, sweet and pleasant voice SHOULD sell well, flying off the shelves like hotcakes. However, I think that his second album, Seeing A Six Coloured Rainbow, should receive a little bit more piblicity as it is an equally perfect, wonderful album with simple, catchy tunes that almost everyone would remember, and appreciate. Well, Play Music says that Ocean revealed himself because the 'time was right'. And, again, I agree. After two impeccable albums, I think it's time Ou De Yang showed himself behind the lovable caricature that most have come to associate him with.

Sadly, his parents disapprove of him singing, just because his previous three-member band, Y.I.Y.O., was disbanded after releasing two albums, and his father viewed him as a failure in the music industry where he should never have ventured into. Well, isn't he doing very well now? In fact, very successful for a person whom nobody has seen before 3rd Nov. Not even his relatives, parents, sisters, brothers, anybody.

Ou De Yang has loved singing ever since he was young, and eating too. That's why he was called Xiao Niao (little bird in Chinese) last time. But now, with bird flu and the deadly H5N1 strain spreading like wild fire, it's better that he sticks to Ocean Ou De Yang, whom we all love and recognise, don't we?

Well, last Thursday, Mu Yao, Wei Liang, Andrew, Hin Kai, Pock Tong, Jun Jie, Guo Wei, Ms Lim and me met at City Hall MRT before proceeding to the Padang a stone's throw away to wait for around 1.5 hours standing in the sun. Poor Andrew was sweating so much and was so thirsty that Mu Yao had to give him his drink. Halfway into the concert, he went to the mobile toilet and vommitted. Couldn't stand the heat, I think. It was really hot, except for the few welcomed occasional breezes that lasted no longer than 5 seconds. We arrived relatively early, so we managed to stand relatively close to the stage just after the VIP seats. Even then, the pictures that I took were either blur, too small to sharply zoom into Ocean, or dominated with black circles popping up (referring to people's heads FYI).

Although the ticket stated that the concert would start at 5pm (which is never exact), it started an annoying 30 mins later at 5.30. Meanwhile, Ocean's first two albums were looped continuously over the blasting speakers. Ms Lim was, suprisingly, reading her book on 'Why Teacher's Quit' while standing in the Padang waiting patiently for the concert to commence. I totally admire her ability to concentrate on the book admist all the noise, music, heat and the sea of people from all walks of life.

After it ended, we made our way to Crystal Jade at Suntec City for dinner, where Ms Lim treated us. I ordered noodles and Andrew couldn't finish his fried rice...he looked exhausted and tired. Mu Yao decided to order the most expensive and most stuff amongst all of us. Well done, miao. Thankfully, Ms Lim is a gracious and generous person...Lum said the bill amounted to S$170++........quite unbelievable, really. Cos we didn't order like crazy.

Now back to the concert again.

The concert wasn't disappointing, despite the few technical glitches when the microphone didn't work at the start. A little bit malu lah, but Wo Men Dou Ke Yi Ti Liang and accept...who cares as long as you get to see Ou De Yang in person?! There were also a few other singers that were present...Joi Cai Chun Jia sang a duet with Ou De Yang in Xiao Fu Qi, Chen Wei Lian was there, with two other singers unknown to me. In fact, Ocean was so touched by the support the audience gave that he teared while singing. Indeed, this was a dream come true for him. Never did he imagine that he could stand infront of his fans one day to perform. So was it for me. Never did I expect the day when he revealed himself to be so soon. His voice didn't disappoint us...for he sang almost, almost exactly like the recorded track in the CD. Ou De Yang also received an enlarged picture of his debut album framed up as a 'prize' for achieving the most popular Chinese album sold in Singapore or something...

He didn't make it big back in his homeland Taiwan, but now he's widely known in Singapore. I WILL support Ocean Ou De Yang no matter what...not just because of his songs and because good songs are meant to be supported, but because he is a polite, gentle and decent singer who is blessed with a heart-warming and pleasant voice.

Without question, Ocean is my number 1 Chinese singer. Besides, he was the first singer that I came to know when I first got interested in Chinese pop music at the start of sec 1.

JIA YOU OU DE YANG, WO MEN YONG YUAN ZHI CHI NI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 4th day of my hols

It’s only the 4th day of my two month long holidays.

And I must admit that I’m getting a little bit bored already.

Last night I slept at 10.45 (which is freaking early) and I woke up at 10.11 today (which is freaking late). That equates to roughly 11.5 hours of sleep. Gosh, no wonder I feel so energetic today!

After washing up and having a light breakfast, I read the newspaper…Digital Life to be exact.

Then I used the computer. Managed to download the latest version of MSN Search Toolbar. Cool, IT ALLOWS TAB BROWSING!!!! Also, there’s this function which indexes your whole PC so that you can search for virtually any file through Windows Desktop Search…something similar to those on Macs. Not to mention that there’s a pop-up blocker too! Finally, I can bid farewell to those stupid, irritating and disturbing unwanted pop-ups, and I can enjoy the breeze and convenience of tab browsing! MSN Toolbar totally rocks!

After that, I practiced the piano and guitar for about an hour or so.

In the afternoon at 1, I played with my Lego set and created a menacing, sleek sedan. Ok, you may be thinking that omg a fourteen year old is still playing LEGO?! Yup, that’s absolutely right. I liked Lego ever since I was young. It is the perfect toy for you to experiment, build, design and play with. Of course, my hi-fi was tuned to Yes 933 to accompany me all these while.

I completed my masterpiece at 3 and decided to use the computer again…this time round to explore Macromedia Flash MX. Finally, I have mastered the art of motion tweening. Flash is really a very efficient software if you know how to fully utilize all of its features.

I plan to go jogging later in the evening to shed off those extra kilos accumulated in these few months. I can, and must, get a little thinner, and start building up those bulging muscles (without looking like some sumo-wrestler).

I think this is a relatively boring post. I’m just reporting my day to you.

I’m soon dying of boredom unless I find more things to do.

That’s all folks!
